Airway Transportation Systems Specialist

Serves as Systems Specialist on extremely completed automated air traffic control systems. Is the STARS systems security and system administrator for the TRACON facility and has sole responsibility for controlling system access and levels of access by air traffic and technical operations employees. Determinates if the majority of systems and/or sub-systems are operating within acceptable parameters and specifications, and the technical acceptability or status thereof. Provides appropriate systems and service certification as required by agency policy and guidelines. Initiates action for timely repair or restoration of services and systems, including possible reconfigurations to minimize service interruptions of the NAS. Evaluates and implements changes to NAS automation systems. Acts as the SSC SME on automation systems to ensure interface capability in development and installation of modifications and software enhancements. As the SME recommends software changes to, but not limited to STARS, TDLS, DALR, TFMS, ASDE, ASR-9, MODE-S and other terminal automation systems. Demonstrates advanced expertise on emerging technology systems and integration of automation systems. Serves as the expert on legacy and newly developed NAS automation systems. Analyzes service, sub-system operations and performance. Collaborates with system users and 2nd level software support personnel on modifications and upgrades. Performs system analysis or computer program modifications to resolve software problems in the operational program. Is responsibility for TRACON electronic equipment configuration. Takes decisive action to resolve major problems and assure continuity of NAS services. Tests new or modified systems, identifies needed improvements and develops requirements. Is the primary technical Point Of Contact on all TRACON automation systems. To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience that demonstrates an extensive knowledge of and experience in the technology, system interrelationships and management of civilian or military automated aviation, navigation and electronics systems. Generally, experience at the next lower level, Pay Band H, Level III/FG/GS-12, meets the minimum qualifications for this position as long as the experience supports the Demonstrated Abilities.In addition to meeting the qualifications above, candidates MUST also address ALL of the Demonstrated Abilities listed in this announcement.Narratives for demonstrated abilities are mandatory. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
